Phat VR6 3
ok done a search but need to know Can i drag the clear pipe (one that you leave unblocked that goes to the tank and most feed though the wing to vent to atmosphere) can i drag that back under the car and cut it off at the back near the tank and p clip it to the floor or does it need to be higher than the tank to stop fuel leaking out of it? Hope that makes senceAlso the black pipe you block off. can i remove it and block the hole at the inlet manni Can i bin the little valve or does it need to remain connected to stop fault codes ?Ta very much Tom

Reep0503 0
I'm going to remove mine this weekend hopefully, what is invoved in doing it?Where do the pipes etc go? Do I just leave them open when I take the canister out?
FishWick 21
The software is expecting the evap purge valve to be there, so I'd leave it connected. As for running the tank vent hose out by the tank, that's fine, MK1 and MK2 Golfs used to do it that way (before the days of zero HC emissions), just make sure it's out of sight otherwise an MOT tester will have a few words in your ear.
