A Steam clean needed on engine to do something.. Is it safe?

Recommended Posts

I have an oil leak and i think i know where its coming from. Where the bottom of the dipstick tube goes into the engine its not held in by anything. Found this out the hard way by checking my oil and pulling both dipstick and dipstick tube out causing a right mess. Had to get underneath and find the hole (as you do :P lol)

All was ok for a while but started getting this leak so im guessing its from here as there cant be a seal.

My dads mate is a mechanic and said if i take it down on saturday he will steam clean the bottom of the engine to remove all the crap, Fit a seal around the bottom of the dipstick stem and weld a bracket on to hold the stem in place as there is nothing holding it on

I Just want to know if it is ok to get this done??

Cheers!!!!! :-d

Managed to rip my bumper off on one corner aswell getting the car onto the ramp :@ luckily though it just clipped back on! but my splitter is abit naff now. thats when it is crap having a low vr!
