kie_dub 0
Just been looking around the forum and didnt see any subjects about driving skills and techniques! So why dont we start one! Be good to know how to get the power down on the strip and getting faster times just from better driving! Tell us how you get from start to finish to get show winning times lol.Any tips on fast road driving (where its legal of course) or track driving? My biggest downfall to the vr turbo is i dont really know how to control the wheel spin and loose valuble seconds. The previous owner could get the power down in the wet better than i can in the dry!SO LETS SEE WHAT YOU KNOW LADS AND LADIES!! ^o)
Moochalargo 0
Get all your braking done in a str8 line! then be in correct gear for exiting the corners and feed powere in smoothly and progressivly! never stab in the power!
spindat45 0
You beat me to it Moochalargo. When approaching a bend, go slowly in and quickly out so get the car to the lowest speed before you turn in then feed the power in gradually as you come out the other side. Works for me and it's what i teach my students. Not that I take them on the track or drag strip.Kevin
Moochalargo 0
I was taucht that by a Race car instructor whist doing a track day at Thruxton!!Oh another one is the obdvious one but 'Straighten out the corners'Ie Get your braking done (in a str8 line) enter the corner as wide as poss Clip the apex mid corner Then as you feed in the power slowly unwind the steering lock and again go as wide as poss on exit!Allways use smooth steering and get the car settled and lined up pre corner, keep the lock on (dont keep ajusting the lock through the corner as it can unsettle the car) then unwind it on exit!
