gazbrook 0
FFS, i really feel like hitting someone, 3 litre conv has been finished and it was put in for mot and it needs some serious welding on the drivers side sill where it meets the floor panel and a bit on the passenger side, one bit is nearly half a meter long!! Is it going to be cheaper to source another shell?? I would put it in a mk2 but i have just spent £1000 on my suspension for a mk3. Dubsport are supposed to be doing my 4wd conversion for me soon and will have to weld some of the floor , will this include some of it ?? HELP !! :-(
Guest Olly_K
nope, dubsport wont need to touch the sill for a 4wd conversion. although im sure if you bung em some cash they would fix it while they do the 4wd conversion. Its deffo not going to be cheaper to buy another shell. just pay someone who does bodywork (accident repair specialists) they be able to sort it.its not that bad really ! gazbrook 0
i didn't think so,it makes sense to give them a bit of extra cash while they are welding anyway, depends on how much it's going to cost compared to everybody else.
acf8181 0
why's it need welding, rust? getting a new sill put in won't cost that much. though it is better to check its isolated and that the rest of the chassis is solid.
gazbrook 0
I haven't been told the full details yet but it is rust/corrosion,near the front end, worst the mot guy has seen on a mk3 . I will try and calm down till tomorrow when I ring dubsport and my local body repair shop
