Water in my footwell (engine bay leak?)

Recommended Posts

Not sure where to put this thread but since I reckon the waters coming in under the dash via the engine bay, I thought I'd try here.

I've got water in my driver footwell. Collects in a pool on the floor just below the steering wheel. Doesn't happen when the car is driving only when left stationary in heavy rain. I thought it migth be the window but have ruled that out (tissue paper round the frame). So, does anyone know of any drain holes that tend to get blocked thast might cause water to come in behind the dash (that seems to be where it'scoming from). Worryingly close to the fuse/realy panel in fact.

Cheers,

you'll need to open the sunroof and in the corners too the front of the car there are a drain channel you'll need to push the hanger down the channel be gentle as you can damage the drain tube and the side you are doing open the door as there will be crap falling out also the hanger will pop out

I had this problem, previouse owner had actually removed the drain bung from the wing to put a live feed to his amp!

I know him as he is a mate.. he never sussed out why he had a bog in the passenger front and rear footwell's.. took me 10mins to suss out.

I just hope yours hasnt come disconected at the base where it joins the ruber bung as to access this is an absalute pig.

I had to remove the glove box, pass air vent and pass dashboard speaker... so you can get both hands on it, one underneath where the glove bos was and then the other through the air vent or speaker hole.

Then with a lot of stress and scratched bruised hands I fiddle blindly trying to put the new drain bung in and reconect the damn thing. Still got it fixed in the end and it felt good!

And I thought Jap cars were tricky to work on.. my GT4 has its moments but damn! :)

Hope you get it sorted mate.
