hitchen1985 0 Posted July 29, 2008 Report Share Posted July 29, 2008 Alrite guys, good forum you got here im not a vw owner myself im into my jap stuff but me and a mate are currently in the middle of putting a 2.8 in a mk2, the engine is in, all piped up however im no electrician and am struggling with that side of things, its an 89 so has got the older fusebox so we have put in the newer style fusebox, changed the car loom and converted the remaining plugs the fit the newer fusebox, this is where the problems start, firstly when you turn the ignition on no lights or anything appear on the mk3 gauges, the fuel pump wiring is missing so we have made our own ignition feed to the pump, we have got the car to start but it immediatley cuts out, i have heard we might need a coded key and that it is the engine immobiliser please help???
