I'm replacing it because it was removed when i changed the engine over, how exactly is it split into two halves though? The end that is exposed has a spring with a ball and black plastic bit on the end of the cable, so basically from the throttle body through to the bulkhead.

if you follow the cable from the throttle valve to the bulkhead you will find a black plastic housing which clips in, if you pull this out you will see how they join together. If you have no throttle cable then look on the bulkhead for a hole around the heater matrix pipe about the size of a 50p. The other end of the throttle cable may have dropped back but you should be able to pull it up again and then connect the two halves

Ahh ok, so the bit inside the car is connected to the pedal, and then that connects to the top half of the cable? Just wondering if the pedal half is connected to the pedal linkage permanently or not? Also, how exactly does it clip in? As I forgot to remove the cable when removing the engine so would it likely to have just popped out, or broke off with force?

Cheers

Ok, had another look today and i see how the cable goes on now, before i had the pedal on the floor so could not see the lever. Now my problem is that the bit where the ball of the cable clips into is fractured where i left the cable in when removing the engine, so it obviously wont stay there. Is this cheap/easy enough to replace or not? On first looks i'd say no, but anyone else?

Also any ideas for a quick fix to keep the ball attached to the lever?

Cheers
