rear engine and gbox mounts fitting

Recommended Posts

The trans gearbox one is filled with brown oil. Realy easy to change. , Remove the 15mm bolt that goes though the middel of the mount. Then jack up the gearbox, Remove the 3 13mm bolts that holds the braket onto the gearbox (this will just lift off giving you more space). Then theres 2 13mms that hold the mount into the cup, Lift out and replace then just bolt it all back together again

The other side ive never done but try doing it the same way..

good luck

"the rear engine mount and trans mount are leaking"???

leaking what...the ones ive seem dont have anything in to leak

it look like a think oil bleeding out, its hydraulic oil basically, fitted the comp front one when i fitted my charger so that put strain on the rears and given them a battering

undid them all and jacked up the engine one side at a time, depending on which mount I was doing, drivers side mount is scary as the engine is jacked up to a very strange angle, took about 90 mins to do both the rear ones, so not bad at all, made a BIG difference though, gear change and clutch felt tighter and solid when you floor it

if you go on the VF enginnering site, you can print fitting guides for their mounts to use as a rough guide, its got torque settings and tips on it
