Hi Guys New Memer Here :)

Been lurking for a while and really like this great forum.

My beloved Golf VR6 has just died, heater matrix went then a few weeks later what i thought was the head gasket which is what i was expecting.

Its at a garage at the moment having all the necessaries done but here is the problem, i've just had a call from the mechanic and he told me the head is shot and is good for nothing, i trust him totally and i know he's not pulling a fast one.

I'm really reluctant to let this car go as i only bought it 6 months ago and love it.

I've been looking at a couple of companies that supply recon heads but there are no clear prices and its all done on an email basis.

I'm not looking at taking this car to the max i just want it back on the road.

The car is a 1993 model.

Any help will be greatly appreciated as to what to do?

Any decent companies or suppliers and an idea on price?

Many Thanks.

G

Skim and pressure test is normaly £45 quite a nice cheep fix i recon
