amit 0
Ive noticed recently my window fuse keeps. Its quite annoying that VW decided to run the reverse lights, electric mirrors and electric windows all of the same bloody 10amp fuse! Its been hapening since last november. The fuse blew again last night. Its really wierd. When ever the fuse blows, i rumage my hands through the wires behind the fuse box, put a new fuse in, then everything starts working again. Its stays ok for 4-5 weeks then it starts blowing again!
VR6Steve 0
At a guess it could be a dodgy reverse light switch(don't know if this will appy as yours is auto?)
amit 0
do u know wat??, some technician mentioned that to me! He poped the front bonnet and pointed to 3 electrical blocks (connectors) on the right hand side of the thermostat housing. Taking his advice, I went down to my local vw dealership and ordered a reverse light switch. When i came to pick it up the next day, it was nothing like the item that the electrician had pointed to. What i had ordered was a reverse light switch, but what the technician pointed was something else. VW dont refund electrical items, so i held on it. Any ideas where the reverse light switch goes?? alivr6 0
amit the reverse light switch goes near the gearbox, basically get someone to put your car in to reverse while you have a look at the gearbox you will then see that the rod hits a switch like the one you have which obviously triggers the reverse lights to come on.its a doddle trust me been there done it and changed it.
