Dandan 0
Hi everyone, I just picked up a 92 mk3 vr6 at the weekend and it needs a bit of work doing before I can happily put it back on the road, so here comes the first of probably many questions! What looks like the passenger side rear engine mount (remember this is the first time i have stuck my head under a mk3 bonnet!) has gone to mush so it needs replacing. I went to gsf and they had a mount in stock which looks exactly like the rear driver side engine mount, is the passenger side one exactly the same? it is harder to get a good look at it as it has a load of struts obscuring it from above.Or am i being stupid and the part that has gone isn't even an engine mount? If you look into the bay it is behind and to the right of the block, is there a mount there? I may be able to get a pic tomorrow to clarify.Any help is much appreciated! Dandan 0
Yep that looks about right, except mine is gooier and generally mankier. Is that a gearbox mount then?
Dandan 0
Also is GSF my best bet for getting a replacement or are there any other companies that I can get parts like this from?

Dandan 0
Right, I got a friend of a friend who is a dub nut to help me change the mount at the weekend, and it has transformed the car completely! Every wobbly, rattly issue that it had before is now gone and it drives beautifully. He did mention that the front engine mount could ideally do with changing too but it probably still has a bit of life left in it.All in all, i'm well pleased!as soon as I have decided what issue to tackle next, i'll put another post up!
