ric_vr6 0 Posted March 16, 2008 Report Share Posted March 16, 2008 Drove my car all day and it was fine, parked it up and than.Went back after 5 minutes and the thing wont start.All lights and electrics work fine, but the last turn on ignition there is nothing, No clicking, tryed wires and batt, wiggled wires on alternator and still no joy.Can anyone help, or is anyone in the wakefield area with VAG COM that would like to help a fellow vr6 owner?Iv just bump started her and she`s runs and drives ok, yet turn the engine off and she wont start again. Slight click from the throtle body and a slight wining noise from under the bonnet (asume thats the ecu running checks)Many thanks.Ric Link to post Share on other sites
SankysVR6 1 Posted March 17, 2008 Report Share Posted March 17, 2008 Its sound like your starter motor, there an earth strap that tends to corrode and then breaks off. I would check that first, as the VagCom wont' detect the starter, i don't think anyway.And try doing a search on the starter on this forum, as it is quite a common problem.
