mrwookie 0
Not a good day today at all! :-( Thought that as it was a Friday i'd take my VR to work as its a nice 70 mile round trip and she hadn't been used all week. So got to work fine although it felt a little slower than usual but I didn't push her as I was in no rush to get to work. Anyway on the way home when she was nicely warmed up I went to give her a blast with the right foot and rather than pulling like a train like normal the exhaust note just got louder as the revs rose rather than the car accelerating quickly. In short where as when you normally get to 3.5k revs the car would take the more you put your foot down the louder it got but picked up speed very slowly! From then on for the rest of the drive home the exhaust was really loud, almost sounded like a subaru, and the car felt completly gutless.Got home and straight away got it on VAG.com and found these 2 faults:-00540 - Knock Sensor 2 (G66) 31-10 - Open or Short to Ground - Intermittent00522 - Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor (G62) 27-10 - Implausible Signal - IntermittentCould these be the cause of my power loss?? Also about 3 weeks ago when changing my exhaust mainfold and had 3/4 studs (cant remember which is was) that had threaded there holes and whilst I thought I got a good bite on these if they had come loose could the loss in exhaust back pressure explain why my VR now feels like a saxo?Any ideas/help would be appreciated.Cheers

mrwookie 0
Just replaced the leads with a set of magnacors and what would I be looking for on the coil pack? Also forgot to add that the exhaust was poppoing alot when I came off the accelerator.

mrwookie 0
OK one of the strangest moments with my VR ever there,,,,Just been out having a look as suggested by dlea and checked the coil pack, no signs of anything, so I procedd to remove the leads and yep the engine labours when removed which is correct so I decide to take the car for a spin and its back to normal?? *-) *-) Guess it must of been a lead thats worked loose or something? The only other thing I have done is to leave the climate control on rather than stciking it to econ but that cant of effected it....could it??Strange??
