hopefulVR6owner 0 Posted February 11, 2008 Report Share Posted February 11, 2008 i have just recently bought a vr6 and although not due for a service i would like to do an oil and filter change. this is a bit embarrassing being a mechanic and all and also haven't worked on one of these yet and wondered what oil i should use? the car has done just under 100k and is the obd2 if it makes a difference. i would like to know what oil other peeps would recommend? lee060 3 Posted February 11, 2008 Report Share Posted February 11, 2008 Qauntnum Synta Silver . avaliable from VW used to be able to get it from gsf but they dont stock it any more . or Fuchs Titan !! (from GSF is the eqv of synta silver and is used over in germany in new dubs unlike synta which is a Uk only range for vw's Iirc..) we've made the change to titan from synta on all regular veedubs we work on . with great results hope this helps Link to post Share on other sites
