scampi 0 Posted January 22, 2008 Report Share Posted January 22, 2008 My best mate has just purchased a L reg corrado.Now the garage that he uses yesterday told him the cambelt needed changing?However, I'm sure my OBD2 golf has a chain I am led to believe so instantly queried this.Could any one cofirm whether it is a belt or a chain for me?Thanks in advanceCarl Link to post Share on other sites

VR6Pete 1,455 Posted January 22, 2008 Report Share Posted January 22, 2008 Mate, stay away from that garage with your VR6 if they said your cam belt needed changing.... obvously highlights there knowledge of the VR6 engine.All VR's are chain. chances are, your corrado will be a double top chain. but chains gernally dont need be done until at least at 100k.... listin to this chain rattle chip to see if urs sounds like that.your only in cheshire, so might be worth while speaking to kilokiller, he's got his own business and he's done loads of chains on here, and probably the cheapest of the lot too!07957204365 is his number.
