My (Ex) Saab 900T16S at Elvington Bookatrack day (56k go away!) 60mb

Recommended Posts

As some of you know i used to have a highly tuned 900T16S pushing out over 270+bhp (nearer 300 when its new owner gets it remapped after the latest mods shortly before i sold it x) )..

Here's the video - the trackday was a sort of shakedown day as i only got the complete engine/gearbox/turbo/head together 2 days before :!

Only minor problem on the day was it vibrated the idle speed bolt out - not bad considering - 1 new bolt later and she was off again 8o) .

Probably best off right clicking and 'save as'.

It does the job so to speak..

You'll hear my Mate Alan squealing like a pig in the passenger seat 8o)

Car was running ok considering it was only put together 2 days before.

I was only running lowish boost in the morning session - 16psi (which was that vid session) - after lunch when everything was checked over i raised boost (19psi) and the car was running like a champ.

My Mate Alan has a 311+bhp 9000 Aero and mine was quicker than his down the straights - my passenger Sam had a rearward facing vid camera in the boot and you can see his car go backwards 8o)

You might notice quite alot of lovely lift off oversteer going on when i get past the 9-5 - just the way i like it 8o)

Turbo powers great ;)

VR6 turbo power will be even better :P (if i can ever get the funds together to finance it).

I was not really giving the car a right hammering as the gearboxes are very fragile on the Saabs - you will probably notice im letting the torque pull me out of quite slow corners in 3rd whereas you would usually use second - that way i got to drive the car home rather than its return voyage on the back of a flatbed :o .

Last trackday i did at Anglesey in June my mate Ross lost 1st and 2nd and his car was putting out alot less than mine :o:o

In the case of those cars gearboxes mechanical sympathy is everything :D
