VR6 Vortech Supercharged

Recommended Posts

I have recently installed a brand new V2 Vortech Supercharger on my VR6 2.8 12V. After 800 kms on the counter, i noticed oil leaking from a) the body of the S/C as well as B) from the air filter !!

The Dutch company, where i bought the device, insists that this problem is due to excessive oil level...

Has anyone any similar problem ??? Pls Help !!!

sounds like too much oil getting through from the breather, do you have a catch can installed from the breather at the top left of the cam cover?

Oil from the charger housing itself is worrying. Is the clamp around the housing done up tight enough?

Thank u for your reply....

The clamp is tight enough! According VR6 Specialists from Netherlands, the problem is due to high level of oil in the engine ....

I have only installed the oil catch tank included in the kit.Nothing else ... do u have the crankcase ventilation "free" , or connected on the air intake???

In my car , the crankcase ventilation is connected according the manual... I will let it free to atmosphere today as i am thinking that some kind of pressure causes the leak... I will let u know during the weekend... Did u change the oil seal by yourself ??? do u know the type of seal as i am about to get in one , just in case .... ???

Another thought, take off the oil return pipe that runs down to the sump from the charger to check that is oil is draining away, it may be blocked/kinked or if the oil is too high, the bottom my be under the oil surface in the sump, stopping it from draining fast enough?
