antera309 3
I remember reading somewhere that fitting one of these means removing the Cat. Is that right?
DundeeDub 0
i don't actually know, i am looking at removing the cat anyway, just thought i would get new headers before a new custom exhaust is made and fitted
VR6Steve 0
Also try Awesome GTi. Their old website used to list an Ashley manifold for the VR6. I think its a fair bit cheaper than that too.Been tempted by it myself.
sundodger 0
Seen these advertised as well.Do you gain torque /bhp from fitting these manifolds?
FishWick 21
Ashley are OK but not tolerant of excessive engine movement. If you're going to use a steel header, go with SuperSprint and lag it with thermal bandage.Stronger engine mounts are a *must* with steel manifolds.A well tuned steel header will see some small midrange torque improvements but the cast iron headers are hard to beat. Iron retains heat much better than steel and it's the heat in the manifolds that "pulls" the spent gases out of the cylinders.I would only use a steel header in combination with a Schrick VGI.
