rigs 0
It's not hard.I'd suggest DIY personally
Ben Seabrook 4
I would agree with Rigs - I did my new suspension myself and it was really easy and I am not a mechanic by a long shot !!!! You could always contact FK and see if they have some fitting instructions ?
vee_vr6_highline 0
yeah i was thinking DIY, but do i have to take some top part of the current shocks for the new ones, e.g bump stop or something. the FK are all intact unlike the ones i had before, which the mechanic had to take the original top mounts and use it on the current coilovers i`ve got. if only you`s were local, could take on a par time job hehe. Ben Seabrook 4
Nope all the fittings which you have to remove to get the old shocks off you need to keep as they secure the new shocks but apart from that you don't need to keep anything.
Phat VR6 3
If they are leaking then theres no point in fitting them as they will fail an MOT and wont work properly!!! It not hard tho
vee_vr6_highline 0
will i need a spring clamp? my cousin just told me. but how the new coilovers look, its all setted up and the top part is secured + at the tip is another screw which i can undo easily, i think that is for the bump stop? will have to remove it from the suspensions which are one the car now. this does seem like a easy job after all but i am just a chicken lol. i have my axle stands and a 2tonne jack, along with socket sets, tools etc i think i`m ready =) "phat vr6" i meant my current coilovers on the front 2 are leaking as i bought it 2nd hand of ebay lol, but i went through MOT only last month, i passed surprizingly. Now i have purchased a BRAND new set FK highsports so i`m wanting to get them fitted asap as the cars been off the road for a whole month.
ventovr6essex1 0
once you have fitted them you wil need a full wheel aliment carried out as you will mess your traking up because the ride hight will be diffrent and you will mess your camber up as the 2 bolts the steering knuckle alow a lot of movement . amazak 3
Should be easy, I did a mine last month, not coilies but standard lowering dampers, you might wana invest on an impact gun, works wonders, find them in argos for around £20, also if you are going to sell the rear colies then let me know as I am looking for some??ThanksPS; Also know a good mechanic who can do the job at your house for a good price as well.
