jetski-billy 0
hi ive only owned my 2001 golf 4motion for a couple of weeks but i noticed something different on sunday.............started up from cold like normal with slightly highter revs for say 30 secs or so then levels off nice and smooth to normal idleafter a half hour normal drive i parked it up for say 20 mins, when i re started i noticed that soon as it started the revs dipped to nearly stalling then settled back again to normal idle..this happened everytime i stopped and restarted!! still drove fine with no flatspotsi didnt think no more of itwhen i started it this morning it started fine but went straight to normal idle, (not the same as previous cold starts) no increased revs for 30 secs, just seemed bit flatter than normaldoes it have a cold start system?is this a symptom thats common or heard of before? any advise much appreciatedscott
blackmagicvr 7
hi mate,as for the higher revs in the morning that is called fast cat warm up,just to get the cats warm quicker so lower emmisions when cold, mine revs high sometimes and then it wont do it for a week nothing to worry about, the idle problem could be a few things i would start by cleaning the throttle body first, do a search on here for a how to section, hope this helps regards
