fritzenberg 3 Posted September 20, 2007 Report Share Posted September 20, 2007 i'm in the process of doing so,got most of the pipes,radiator and condenser in place,just compressor,matrix and elecrics left which is where i'm stuck,i notice that air-con golfs have a brown plug on thethermo housing,what is this for,where do the wires go?? i basicly need all the wiring for this,and the compressor and condenser(the thing down by the carbon canister).also what are the small plasic white and green pipes for?cheers Link to post Share on other sites

VR6_Absy 0 Posted September 30, 2007 Report Share Posted September 30, 2007 Brown plug is water temp sensor (i think) which when the car is running too hot will turn off A/C.The Green and White pipes are conected to a container in the NSF wing to pull a vacuum to keep your re-circ flap shut.However ................I didn't bother with the recirc vacuum stuff, mines is always open letting the outside fresh air in.With regard wiring, my 12V supply goes to High/Low Pressure swith on the Drier so if the condensor is too hot resulting in the pressure shooting up the A/C clutch will disengage untill the condensor cools. If i lose all gas then the clutch will disengage due to the pressure being too low.As long as i'm moving or the engine fan is on then my A/C is superb ;-) well cool, couldn't be without now.
