blackberry 0
HiI've got an OBD2 golf highline and have come up with a problem. Initially the car bogged down when warmed up. I cleaned the throttle body last night, foudn some loose clamp on the air box tubing and two loose plugs. The plugs were PCV heater by the MAF which was on back to front, and the ECT plug was loose too.Now it starts fine, but has a higher idle and takes a bit of time to settle down. This is not just on start up but also whenever moving into neutral, changing gear etc.Any ideas on what to look for?ThanksPaul
jesterwalker69 0
Mine also has a higher idle just after start up, i leave it a for about a minute and it settles down. I jst figured it was meant to do this just to warm its self up?

xyber 1
might be worth disconnecting your battery over night so everything resets? cant hurt
blackberry 0
Thanks for the suggestion - do I need to do anything before disconnecting the battery? The radio is aftermarket so no codes there!Paul
Guest andyc
not the A/C is it, i know its silly, but im not up to scratch on injection engines
Roan 0
After I cleaned my throttle body, the car was idling very high too. I made sure I sprayed loads of carb cleaner into the inlet manifold etc. It settled down after running/driving for 2-3 hours. You have to give the ECU time to re-adjust as it was probably originally compensating for the restricted air flow through your dirty TB.
