VF eng charger kit fitting nightmare

Started fitting the kit today and so far its claims that its an 8hr job are b0110x.

Has anyone found that the pipe work on either side of the oil catch can needs trimming to size? everytime i fit it in a diferent way im still always left with kinked pipes, or its just horrible looking with the catch can jammed against the suspension tower

some of the coupler hoses are just too long, ive check all combos and still things dont add up

Does the breather that runs from next to the TB behind the inlet mani get removed completly and the pipe from the catch can go straight onto were it once was (ie bin off the breather-induction tube pipe completely)

the fitting that goes in the top of the oil filter housing is so badly made (the theads look like theyve been cut with a hack saw and full of swarf) that ive given up on that and am going to source a new one, not sure from where yet?

and to top it all off in my MOT this AM they failed it on worn suspension top mounts, which i only fitted 1500miles ago! I told them this and they tried to say i fitted them wrong or GSF sold me the wrong ones, so i went home had a cuppa and something to eat, grubbied myself up abit and took it back for a retest a few hrs later, having not done a single thing to my car and guess what, it passed :@

Time to find a new MOT tester i think!!

anyway hope my charger questions make sense, ive had one of them days and have called it a day as im knackered and need a stella or ten :)

Decent MOT testers are getting harder to find' date=' i'm lucky and do have a good tester and he says my car is in very good condition for a 9-10yr old car.

i didn't use the supllied catch can, i've installed a remote catch can the breathes to atmos and not back to the inlet tract.

And i removed the whole oil filter housing to install the new feed nipple. But saying that it fitted perfect, no probs.

finally got it nearly done! total time will be around 20hrs to get it spot on!

the OE breather pipe was broken but as the carbon canister is gone and the vacuum to it from the TB has a check valve now, it was basically pointless, so after staring at peoples pics on here decided to copy a few and put the pipe from the catch can straight onto the breather port

bought new hoses and cut to the sizes i needed to keep it all nice, smooth and un-kinked, the ones it came with were gash sizes and made it awkward

re-cut the threads on the oil return fitting as they were real rough, now they go in loads better

the actual oil return pipe is too short so it rubs on the alternator, cross member and an a/c line. New one coming tomorrow, twice the length so i can route it out the way of everything

just gotta fit the new return line, do all the final checks and a new set of plugs and fresh oil and filter and im done.....I hope

the fitting on sump is good but im gonna add a doughty washer just to make it bomb proof

im itching to hear what it sounds like, although im gonna miss the dambuster roar of my BMC (which is now for sale)
