foggy 0 Posted June 10, 2007 Report Share Posted June 10, 2007 was on the A14 today overtaking a car about 70ish...THEN i losted most of my power!!! the car feels like, one of leads or plugs has gone! it doesnt want pull away too well.BUT wen i lost the power the exhaust went loud too, plus wen i got out of the car, you smell and feel the heat from the exhaust!! this cant be a lead or a plug, can it??!! it sounds bad to me!! matth76 1 Posted June 11, 2007 Report Share Posted June 11, 2007 Does the exhaust seem to vibrate a lot? My gf's polo had a coilpack go and the exhaust vibrated a huge amount - replaced coilpack and the problem was sorted. I thought it was the cat too. Link to post Share on other sites
rodney 17 Posted June 11, 2007 Report Share Posted June 11, 2007 Well simple tests on the coil pack/leads.. Pop plugs off one at a time an see if engine tone alters on each one...... (remember to protect yourself) If tone alters and runs more ruff and revs drop then that one is ok. No change then you have issue. If all 6 are ok then Not that The other main things that could cause the ruff running (dependant upon your set up) Lambda blown in CAT, Cracked maifold..... There are of course other things that can cause ruff running, MAF, Air Inlet pipes come loose/off etc Start with things you think and work from theregood luck Link to post Share on other sites
