Bigjobbo 0
I'm deep in it. A 94' mk3 VR, 125k, worth 1200?? She is in desperate need of that much money to be spent on her it's a total loss. Luckily i can do the work myself, but it is still an un-economical repair, and have been told to ditch it on several occasions. I'm not going to though, because i love the sound of her with just a filter, kind of like an angry lion??Anyway, from a brief estimate, she needs: For those with transmission knowledge, the diff pin housing, shaft, and locking pin are worn and has excessive backlash on the drive flanges, causing huge amounts of torque steer, not good. I'll take the box out and strip it myself, and fit the parts myself (never done one before!). While the box is out, i need to do the chains, and figured i could take the head off, get it skimmed, do the stem seals, and stick a mk4 gasket on. Also i can hear something on the bottom end when she's cold, so i'm gonna do the big end bearings take the crank out get it reground, and fit new shells etc., and do the piston rings. I know it's a lot but i don't want anything exploding on me. Also to do:Shockers all roundPAS Pump2 front ABS sensorsTwo T.R. EndsRear axle bushes3 engine mntsOil coolerCoil packServiceThere are a couple more things that i cant think of, but she is looking to be off the road for around 12 months. To add insult to injury i'l be driving a ROVER 214SLI,mmmmmmm!I'm sorry to bore you with this, it was something i needed to get off my chest to some people who understand my pain. Anybody who knows the AAA engine and CCM box like the back of their hand, or anybody else who can give me advice, i would greatly appreciate.Thank You
