Just had my engine replaced on my VR. Now, my steering seems to be way too easy and when centred, there doesn`t seem to be anything to it. I can move the wheel a few degress left or right with almost no reposnse. It steers ok at low speed.

I had a knocking noise as well coming from under the car and seemed related to movement rather than steering. I had a CV joint replaced and that cured it but the steering is still off.

As i pick up speed and approach 50mph+ it starts to act strangely. The car will "correct" itself. I`ll be heading on a straight line and it`ll shift left or right. It requires constant redirection.

I also get slight bobbing on the offside front on bends.

I`ve been advised that there`s play in on of my suspension struts.

Any advice on what to do, or if i have to have the suspension replaced, what to get for a reasonable cost?

The suspension is lowered standard.

Thanks in advance.

sound like lwr arm bushes. Drifting on acceleration or braking, and feels like your trying to steer a hover craft. A good way to check is to get the wheel stud wrench and try tighten the wheel nuts on the o/s and slacken on the n/s. The wheel will shift on the back bush.

Good luck
