SankysVR6 1
Has the new wheel only got 1 wire coming form it , as you may need to attach another wire from the base of it.It might help if you posted a picture of the back of the new wheel
mally 0
yeah the new wheel has only got one connector on it, what do you mean by adding another wire?
SankysVR6 1
Well the horn works like light switch in the house. Ushally ther will be +12V feeding the horn all the time, and then there will be a Gnd wire going to the switch on the horn switch on the steering wheel on one side and returning the Gnd wire from the steering wheel to the horn. So when you press the horn switch it puts Gnd to the horn to sound it.This could also be the other way round but the same principle i.e. Gnd going to the horn and +12v going to the horn switch.I'll have a look at the wiring diagram when i'm at work tomorrw and let you know if i'm not making any sense to you. danb 0
the one wire you have is the positive wire , you need a ground wire , when i changed my wheel i trapped a ground wire underneath the 24mm nut then attach it to the spade end connecter on the back of your horn ! mally 0
there was a big spring in the horn mechanism of the wheel that wasn t bent out far enough to make contact with the hub and therefore wasnt creating the earth. i bent it out a bit and the horn began to work
