dstyrrell 0 Posted February 27, 2007 Report Share Posted February 27, 2007 you are talking about the auxillary belt tensioner, you might not need a new one, take it off and relube the bearing, you can prise the side of the bearing off and pack it with some decent grease. If its completely knackered they dont cost that much from vw mate, the whole unit that is. or if you get the dimensions of the bearing i found this site that does just about every bearing you can think of, you could give them a try.http://www.bearings2you.com/products.htm Link to post Share on other sites

petervr6 0 Posted February 27, 2007 Report Share Posted February 27, 2007 do it stright away mate dont do what i did. i thought i would leave it till next week then it waited for me to drive down a dark country lane then snapped the belt then you lose the power steering, water pump and the battery dies night mare.
