OllySennen 0
Hi guys, I'm new to the forum and to the VR.After a long search for the right one, Ive recently bought my VR. I just want a bit of advice as far as servicing goes. Its done 99k - with full VWSH. Its now due a service - presumably it will be the 100k one. The cars in great order, it was serviced (non VW) by the previous owner in August (service+MOT). Obviuosly I want to keep the VW stamp going for future sale price.... BUT, i don't have a bottomless wallet! What would you guys suggest? Assuming there's no major work needed then what would you expect to be paying (roughly) for a 100k service from VW??Thanks alot! craggsy 91
Find out whats involved with the 100k service and either use a smaller independant who knows VWs and take it there but get the oil and filter done at VW so they stamp it
OllySennen 0
yea, sounds like a good move. The only advisories it had from the August service was discs (i'll do myself) and also "slight fluid leak on both rear shocks"....
craggsy 91
Rear shocks are a doddle. Hardest bit is getting springs on and off, need spring compressors to do it safely

matth76 1
I had vw service my car when I first got it at 69k miles - asked them to give it a full service. That was a year and a half ago and it cost £250. However they were rubbish and neglected to tighten up every single spark plug. I now take it to a specialist: The Phirm and they are far far more experienced and far cheaper. If I was to buy a car now I would much prefer it was serviced at a specialist rather than a main dealer after the experience I had. My gf and other people I know have also had bad service from our local main dealer.
