If I lower my VR, either by suspension kit (say 40mm) or by coilovers do you have to do anything with the ABS. I know on some cars that because the cars senses that lower height it thinks there is more weight on board and so brakes harder, sometime locking up?

I remember hearing of this in my days as a mechanic. Some cars were and still are fitted with a brake bias valve. When you had weight in the back and the car sat lower, the valve increased the amount of pressure applied to the back brakes as more effort was needed to stop a loaded car. As a result, under heavy braking with a car that had been lowered, it was possible for the back brakes to lock up. If I'm not mistaken this was more of a problem with rear drum brakes which were not very good to begin with, as only one brake shoe did most of the stopping. Disc brakes with ABS are ulikely to suffer from such problems as each wheel is monitored through sensors which pick up the slightest notion of a skid and release/apply the brake pressure accordingly. (Hence that dodgy feeling under you right foot when the ABS kicks in).

I can safely say that I have had no locking up problems with my VR. Its lowered by 40 mm on springs and shocks and when called upon, my anchors have never let me down or done anything unexpected.

(Apologies for the long winded reply) :)
