Noise from engine please help

I have a noise coming from the right hand side of the engine and sounds like a click noise. The engine sounds very quiet but if you rev the engine you can hear a click click click noise. when driving it gets louder and even if you push the clutch in it goes away but if you rev with clutch in it will still be there. i went to a garage to ask and they didnt know but said it wasnt anything worth worrying about does anyone have any ideas. please help

Tappets? Timing chains?

When you say right hand side do you mean whilst looking from the front, or sat in the car?

i mean when standing at front the noise could be the chains but im not sure they are noisy and can only be heard when pressing the accelerator
