guppers 0 Posted November 20, 2006 Report Share Posted November 20, 2006 hi guys. seeing as my abs ecu is completely tossed(can i say that?) i was wandering how hard they were to fit yourself as the last one cost me the best part of 400 beer tokens to get supplied and fitted. also are all mk3 golf abs systems the same or has the vr got an uprated one. ie, can i rob an ecu off a gti? cheers in advance. Focker-out 0 Posted November 21, 2006 Report Share Posted November 21, 2006 Depends on the age of your car mate, early VR6 ABS ECUs were in the pass side footwell and on the later cars the ECUs were on the abs pump itself, which is under the bonnet, where wll the brake pipes come from!!A GTi one should be the same its just a case of removing your ECU and checking the part numbers first!!
