leeintheuk 0
Firstly hi to all on this forum!.My 1994 Golf VR6 has just started to produce clouds of white smoke every now and then.I can drive it for 30 miles in and out of traffic with no problems then usually while at traffic lights I see it start to produce white smoke from the exhaust, a little at first then it fills the street as I pull away, then usually it will clear and be fine again for a random amount of time. There is no noticable lack of power when this happens just a slight misfire then back to normal.I also noticed that I have oil running down the exhaust manifold and burning off when hot.Are headgaskets ever know to cause these symptoms on the VR6 lump???.Any advice on possible cause would be appreciated.Regards to all VR6 lovers!Lee

dstyrrell 0
Whilst the head is off you may aswell do the chains and tensioners, maybe look at getting a mk4 VR6 head gasket which will give you a little more power and is metal.Brace yourself for the bill tho mate !!! Chrisdut 0
if you going to do the chain's etc you might as well fit a new clutch while the box is out
