markiemclean 0 Posted October 9, 2006 Report Share Posted October 9, 2006 Hey guys, help NEEDEDMy MK3 VR6 is using a lot of coolant. It has done this since not long after i have got it but gradually this has got worse. It seems to be coming from the overflow in the header tank. I have changed the seal in the header tank cap, i have changed the cap from the older style black one to the newer blue one and this hasnt helped the problem.any suggestions? jezmoz 0 Posted October 9, 2006 Report Share Posted October 9, 2006 Hi mate, check your thermostat housing and water pump near the block, check all the coolant pipes for leaks, failing that it can sometimes be more serious eg: the head gasket, a search on water here http://www.vr6oc.com/search.php?q=water+leak&r=0Admin: there should be a sticky on this it comes up that often.
