gazbrook 0
Hi,i recently bought some leather bucket seats originally from a renault 21 turbo for £45, as they were going so cheap i couldn't turn them down. Now i have realised i don't have the first clue how to fit them or more importantly if they will fit, will i need some sort of a universal subframe or something like that or will welding be involved?? acf8181 0
i can't imagine they're very nice seats...i've yet to find a nice renault seat. i'd say sell them on ebay for a profit...but this is just my opinion, so i'll try and say somehting constructive...you'd prob need to cut the frame off them and weld on a mkIII frame. gazbrook 0
Seriously they look pretty good, two leather bucket seats for £45 in good condition i knew i could sell them on otherwise if i struggled fitting them ,welding isn't something i fancy trying. They have all sorts of sliding and tilting functions, with lumbar support etc, i will have a go with the passenger seat first and then if i do cock it up i can still drive it at least

jte 0
i can't imagine they're very nice seats...i've yet to find a nice renault seat. The front seats in my old renault 19 16 executive were nice enough for me to take out and have made into chairs after i crashed it! Now got two damn comfy black leather chairs with nice stainless steel frames. Thank god for friends who do furniture design and construction courses at uni!On subject, i thing a fair bit of welding would be required to get your renault seats into a golf. Renaul mount seats in a retarded french way.
gazbrook 0
i know a guy who does all sorts of work and has done welding on cars etc and he's cheap and i'm quite confident he wouldn't set it on fire,my car is in the garage at the moment but when i get it back i will decide whether its gonna cost me a small fortune or not
antera309 3
bear in mind the substantial cost of retrimming the rear seats to match, unless you're planning to remove them.
gazbrook 0
well i have thought about retrimming the rear seats as i have the crappy blue interior but i thought as i never sit in the back apart from ahem special occasions i'm not too fussed about the luxury factor of leather. At least it has to be the same colour though so i have thought about getting some black back seat covers from halfords or somewhere,it might not look great but it would still look similar
