VR6Will 0
Hi everyone, need a bit of help if you can, i did the rear bushes on a friends mk3 vr6 its a k plate dizzy model, even has the abs unit under the carpet in the passenger footwell! anyway because i had the beam off i now need to bleed the brake systemi must have put about 2-3l of brake fluid through it but cant get any sort of decent pedal feel! i've bleed the master cylinder, the abs unit, and all four calipers with the compensator valve fully open, i was advised to bleed it with the ignition on which i did and made a little bit better but still nowhere near safe enough to be able to drive it...what am i missing?cheerswill
dellert 0
need to bleed the ABS unit? I am sure you used to have to do something to the brake balance spring thing too? correct me if I am wrong here guys.
VR6Will 0
i have bled the abs unit, it has 2 bleed nipples on the top, did both but do they have to be done in order? the spring (compensator) is fully open!
dellert 0
How about the clutch, as this is on the same circuit, but I doubt it would interfere with the brakes?! Also did you bleed the master cylinder?
VR6Will 0
not bled the clutch although it does take fluid from the same resovoir, but clutch still works fine, yea bled the master cylinder too! not sure what else to do really! im almost certain its to do with the abs unit but dont know how to do it (if that makes sense)
VR6_Absy 0
Are you pressure bleeding or manually pumping the pedal ? Pressure has always been best for me
