vr6newcomer 1
hi guys, bought my first vr6 on tuesday, 96 black highline, possibly have a crack on the coilpack, is that just a cover or is it more serious??
Seademon 0
No if its cracked it will need replacing - u could coat it in epoxy resin but your best off buying a new one, when the engine gets damp in winter it will cause your car to misfire if it doesnt already. New ones are around £
IbiVR 0
They crop up on ebay from time to time to - can get a second hand one for £10 if you look hard enough. Not a long term solution but will keep you going for a while. Can get new ones from GSF for around £125 i think.Tom.

vr6newcomer 1
thanks guys, does this effect power, as im sure my cars nderperforming a bit, but im gonno give it a bit of t.l.c this coming week. i assume mobil 1 will be best for the engine?
Seademon 0
If the coilpacks cracked it probably will be holding it back a bit. Mobil 1 oil is too thin for the VR6 - best oil is the VW Silver Synta which is what most people on here use.
