I am thinking about adding another 12" Sub to my car and am going to be looking at an AMP to run both subs together.

Should I use a CAP also?

What exactly are they and how do they wire in?

This is something I never really looked into or ever thought about.....

Tnx for any help and ideas. :-)

Mark.

The capacitor needs to be wired in parallel with the cars battery. Connect the positive lead from the battery to the positive of the capacitor. Next your capacitor should have come with either a 12volt light bulb or a resistor. (Hopefully a bulb because its easier to tell when the capacitor is charged, its a regular 12v car bulb that any auto shop would have) connect the bulb to the ground side of the capacitor and the other end to a wire that has been connected to chassis ground. When you first hook up the bulb the light is bright than it dims out. Once its dim you know its fully charged. Remove the bulb, than connect that ground wire from the chassis ground of the capacitor to the ground side.Than connect the positive lead of the capacitor to the amp (so you will have 2 connections on the positive side and 1 on the ground ). Than your done. No problem. This just acts as a back up to you battary to stop i.e the lights diming or revs hunting when the battery is under load when you bass is pumping.

Hope that helps
