Thanks guys, ill check the coil pack...anyone having success with repairing cracked coil packs? or is it better to just buy new?

Hi, My Mk3 VR6 has a slight intermitent misfire at low revs... Then while driving home last night after about 10mins i gave it some big right foot, 1st gear, 2nd gear, 3rd gear then loss of power..i slowed down and it had lost cyclinders...difficult to say how many but it sounded like a 3 cylinder, drove it the rest of the way home (10 mins) and then this morning it was fine again. Does the Vr6 have some kind of safe/limp home mode? I used to have a triumph Motorbike that would cut cylinders if the engine was experiencing a problem to prevent further damage? Any clues or help with whats wrong
