  2. Here in South Africa electrical parts are not refundable. Im sure this pump they sold me is for the mk3 jetta cli. Ive got an inline pump, would it help if i added it on
  3. My fuel pump decided to give in on me, so i purchased a pirate pump for R600. The problem i have now after installing the pirate(non oem) pump is car must be primed @least thrice before starting and under hard acceleration the car stalls & seem like its not getting petrol, i have to leave the accelerator to return to nornal. Should i add an inline high pressure pump as i cnt afford 2 buy another(quality) intank pump?
  4. Hi guys, a week ago i these terrible noises when turning, going over speed bumps & when changing gears, especially on pull-away. On hard acceleration car pulls to the left. Today i came the mall, & noticed a puddle of oil underneath my car (very clean oil), so i checked dipstick, powersteering fluid, transmision oil & coolant, & everything is intact 100%. Could this be my front engine mounting? This problem started after i came back from holiday, the roads we travel on in South Africa is Pathetic.
  5. I finaly decided to check my abs problem out, i removed my front wheels & discovered the connector wires had been scuffed open, i then fixed them up & tested them with a test light, no power on connectors, did some troubleshooting, the two 30A fuses are ok, but i cant find the relays, i checked everywhere. My vr6 is the mk3 1996 South AFRICAN SPEC. WHERE are these relays on my car?
  6. those caps should always be checked first. Glad you are sorted out mate.
  7. the cylinder head has to come off soon to change valve stem seals, then i can sort out the stud problem.
  8. while trying to replace a stripped stud with a new one, i broke the new one off, flush in the cylinder, im sure it was poor quality. So i tried drilling it out but just made a bigger mess. I then put the manifolds back, at least the bugger aint leaking, lucky me, but this is still bugging me. Is this going to be a problem, im thinking of doing a modification just to make sure it is sealed. I have cut a strip of flat bar steel, drilled 2 holes in it, then fastened it on the right mani to the left mani, with a washer applying pressure to the part where thier is no stud, works hundred percent, bu
  9. hi guys, somebody did the scan for me, i even told the guy to check Lambda & MAF for faults. know i will have to pay R450.00 again for a scan. Therefore i love doing everything myself, because it will be done right the first time.
  10. the fault code for that immobiliser has been erased and did not return on 2nd scan. That immobiliser does not even exist anymore, im using autowatch level 4 in the vehicle now.

  13. u know yakuza, this is where we belong, there is too much negative talk about vr6's on the other sites. ''Lol''.
  14. hey Yakuza, u also here mate. What will a new Maf cost
  15. one more thing, i have removed my throttlebody twice in this year to clean, could this be an issue. As far as i know only Obd2 needs to be calabirated(spelling), correct me if im wrong.
  16. is it true that with stand alone management u dont have to use the MAF & Lambda. Those two sensors are quite expensive here in South Africa, equivalent to the amount one will pay for an aftermarket management.
  17. it ran crappy in winter, but now its worse. The fuel consumption reading is always high sometime 14.7l/100km OR 17.9l/100km. Can a faulty lambda cause this?, by the it is an OBD1
  18. Hi guy's, my mk3 vr6 has no pulling power, especially uphill, i have to change down to 2nd gear to get the car going. The throttle is also less responsive(got a flat spot). The motor sounds okay, no misfiring only using lots of fuel. We have summer now in South Africa & this is even making the problem worse, car feels like a dud. What could be the problem?, pls help
  19. I replaced the coolant sensor due to a running rich problem, the motor now is very alive and ive got power again, but now im getting white smoke and a strong fuel smell from exhaust, what could be wrong?
  20. GOOD DAY GUYS, MY VR FEELS VERY UNSTABLE IN THE FRONT, THE STEERING IS LIGHT AND THE CAR FEELS AS IF IT IS FLOATING, I HAD THE 18" MAGS ON THE CAR, AND I REMOVED, THINKING IT WAS THE CULPRITS, BUT I STILL HAVE THE PROBLEM WITH THE OEM WHEELS. MY ALIGNMENT IS OUT BUT THE CAR NEVER DROVE LIKE THIS BEFORE, I REPLACED TIE ROD ENDS,CV JOINTS,LOWER CNTROL BUSHES, GEARBOX MOUNTINGS,COIL SPRINGS, SHOCK MOUNTINGS, BALL JOINTS. THE FEELING IS UNBEARABLE, WHEN I GO OVER ROAD SURFACES THAT IS UNEVEN, I DO NOT HAVE CONTROL OVER THE CAR EVEN @ A SPEED OF 60KM/H. PLEASE ANY HELP WILL B APPRECIATED, I REPLACE
  21. up to date ive changed every part on my vr6's suspension even put new coil springs and shock mounts and today i put new drop links on the arb, but it now it has a clonking sound like something is lose, is this a bad caliper or inner cv joint. I dnt want to guess again it is costing me alot. This only happen when driving straight and the sound come and go away, it sound like ball bearings rolling over each other, it cant be the outer cv's when i turn the outers are quite. The wheel also give a soft humming sound when the car is at a nice stable speed. The car is really driving nice like a car s
