[Sharan VR6 cam chain HELP!!!]

Can anybody out there give me some serious advice on the replacement of the cam chain in my Sharan VR6??

I've looked at getting it remanufactured, I've hunted around and the qoutes vary right up too £2665.00 to fix it etc.

Where can I get my VR6 fixed at a decent price? I can transport the car, I'm in Surrey.

I have recently broken the cam chain in my sharan VR6, luckily I was coasting slowly round a roundabout when it happened. rolled into a bus stop on the momentum & called the mechanics out who kindly told me what they're sure I've done.

The car has done 180,000 odd miles and was in great working condition as well as good bodywork. A VW specialist has said it's going to cost me around £2500.00 to replace including a clutch plate renewal. Does this sound about right???

Can anybody advice me please.
