I took my car to my mates garage today, and when on idle the car is normal - a slight bearing noise but thats it but when you rev it it goes louder, sounds exactly like when my water pump was playing up on my type R... now whats wierd its on the right hand side of the engine? Now would the chains make a bearing noise or a distinctive rattle? Also is it an engine out jobby to do the chains? and is it normal for the water pump needing to be done after 100k ? If the chains are noisy does this mean they are going to snap ? thanks

As above, what do you guys recommend, just turned 103k... Not sure when they where last done so going to get both done as a precautionary measure, Please could you give me the ratings of the oil needed, ive tried the search function but it doesnt seem to want to play. Info wanted, brand, fully/semi syn? and the ratings of both. Thanks
