Hi here are some pics of my new recon OBD1 engine ive just bought to put in my 1998 highline Came out of a Mk3 with 71k miles on the clock and was removed due to failing its MOT on excessive chassis rust only. Last year the Engine had a rebuild, and has had various gaskets, a New reconditioned head with new valves set, seated, skimmed and crack tested etc. new piston rings, new big end bearings with arp bolts, Chain & tentioner had also been replaced along with a new water pump.   6. hi all just bought recon engine that has OBD1 throttle body and inlet manifold, with alloy rocker cover along with large black coilpack to use in my OBD2 highline. question is can i swap my inlet manifold, rocker cover etc onto the OBD1 block?, will it work with my ecu?, and will i get the increased 185BHP as opposed to the 174BHP of the OBD1?...or are the cylinder head/blocks different ?...dont want to loose any power! engine has been rebuilt with new recon head etc... hope someone can help otherwise i'll have to sell engine on! thanks

  9. hi guys about to atempt my first VR6 engine swap, any advice on potential problems or wether i need to do any jobs in a particular way? i'm going to take off bumper, front panel and lights /rad etc so i can slide the old one out and then new one in! any advice greatly appreciated! cheers adam
  10. while taking off my wooden highline gearknob to refurb it and removing the gaiter i noticed a pool of oil down below on the top of the tunnel!..doesn't look normal!...is it?

Unfortunately just went down the road after fitting, and grinding of callipers againt rim inner edge when brakes applied!!...i just realised that the brake disc and calliper size is bidgger on the late vr6's!!...loks like im buggered!...back to the RS$'s i guess? or could i space out the front wheels...any ideas anyone?
  13. Decided to sell my RS4 replicas..see Market Place and go for a more old school look!..always loved the original VR6 BBS RA rims, nice classic look!..so bought these today (thanks Mo!), more comfortable ride and no grounding with bodies in the back!
