check all the leads to alternator i had same problem there is a lead from the starter to the alternator if it aint put on right battery light will be on dull car misfires and interior light flickers when on took 2 weeks and 2 alternators before i worked the problem out

Hi had my VR6 for almost 12 months now and to be honest she's been off the road more than she's been on it lol First prob was dreaded head gasket so had fixed then air con pump then starter then alternator list goes on then rear axle went and she ran great for 2 whole weeks then started to overheat again so returned to where had head gasket was done only to find it had gone again she is on a p plate 96 highline i'm loathed to part with her but starting to lose all faith in garages now after spending almost 3k on her the risk is now do i go for gasket or head replacemeant or complete engine rep

Hi my alternator packed up on my vr6 put new one on and now it seems i have a earth problem battery wont charge and when running will run fine then lumpy all of a sudden interior light flickers and goes dim can anyone tell me where all the earth points are so i can check them clean them etc cheers
