  2. Anyone on here be attending this http://www.awesome-gti.co.uk/ ? I went last year was a good day out with some seriously nice dubs on display and you can mooch around awesomes workshop and have a nosey at how the pros do it! Some good bargains on old stock to, i got some Eibach springs last year for £40!

Hi following on from this http://www.vr6oc.com/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?360278.0#post_360725 and having the "alternator workshop" sign and battery light come on tonight, im in the process of arming myself with as much usefull info as i can regarding actually detensioning the belt and removing the alternator. Has anyone on here done this and can accurately describe what i will require to do the job? Or maybe even a how to link would be brilliant! Thanks for any help you can offer.

  6. Just a quick update, i did end up buying a temp sensor, sealing ring and clip from VW and it came to less than £30 all in which i was happy enough with for genuine parts.............However! I have since realised that my alternator is on its last legs as when i was running around picking the said parts up i tried to start the car up after leving the dealers and the battery was completely flat!! Luckily the dealers had a jump pack to help me out.So it looks like the failing alternator was either mimicking the temp sensor problems or i have both problems running sise by side! Hi i have recently had the EML on complete with erratic idle and poor fuel consumption/lack of power/smoothness and did a quick scan with my cheapo e bay scanner and it throws up the temp sensor faulty code. Had a quick look and the sensor body is black in colour. When i look around the internet everyone whos had the sensor fault code seems to have up -graded to the revised green version. part number 059919501a Does anyone have a definate part number for the 4motion 2.8 sensor? there are loads of updated green versions on e bay saying they fit "MK4 Golfs" but a couple make out like they are no
