Hi there, There gears on my GF's VR6 (93) was getting a bit hard. So I did an adjustment which improved things. However, I notised that the bushings holding the Gear-stick to the metal rod is completely perished, and its subsequently steel on steel. Although the car shifts ok, the mechanism is rather noisy. Are there any bushings available to replace these? Cheers!

Anyone? -
Ive got a Corrado with a 2,9 ABV engine. The Engine is toast (Chain failure) Ive got a complete 92' Golf OBD1 2,8 AAA ready to break. What issues will I meet putting the AAA engine in the Corrado, if any? Plug and play? Cheers!

Sure. Sorted. It was the clipthing that holds the upper cable to the gearshift mechanism on the gearbox that was broken off. Adjusting the cables is quite easy. you just need a 13mm wrench :-) its on the top of the gearbox.

Cheers mate, will have a look during the weekend :-)

Any hints on this?

Hi there. Ive been doing some searching on this topic. One of my VR6's, 93, does not want to change into reverse. It started being ''harder'' to get into reverse about a week ago, and now my GF reports that its impossible. So, after doing some searching I found that this is a cable operated system? I also found an ''adjustment procedure'' on this site: http://www.houseofthud.com/shifting_gti.htm can someone confirm that this is correct for my car? The gearoil is fairly new, and the other gears function just fine. Any input here before I get my hands dirty?

I see there are a lot of ideas here on brake fluid. Here are a few boiling points: (dry / wet / after 6 months) Castrol SRF 590 518 554 NEO Super DOT 585 421 503 Motul Racing 600 585 421 503 Motul DOT 5.1 509 365 437 ATE Type 200/ATE Super Blue 536 392 464 I have used all of these, except the NEO one, with an excellent result. The best one is DOT 4.... Castrol SRF rocks!!!
