had the same problem on my old corrado' date='i just fitted an oil pressure gauge, then removed the buzzer, its a common fault on the corrados....its behind the rev counter clock..had the car for over three years like that,no problems at all,and the oil light still works as normal..
[/quote']
Is the fault with the clocks then? I've got the same issue with my mk2 trackcar

I had a similar issue when I first put the VR6 into the mk2. turned out it was the ignition switch that was causing it

What colour is the smoke?

Does the fuel pump prime when you turn on the ignition?

Hi all,
What is involved in converting an early OBD1 engine to an OBD2 engine? Intake Manifold, MAF, Throttle body, loom and ECU ?
-
Just wondering the same if anyone has used one or even fitted one? Hard to fit? (Especially in a mk2?)
-
Sounds like a good idea. I'm open to ideas on both

Hi all,
I've got a mk2 VR6 OBD1 track car. Its an ex-rally car 1.8 16v that I recently put the VR6 into. I'm now looking to upgrade the suspension. There's two options, coilovers or race springs and adjustable shocks. Anyone have opinions on it?

I'm guessing that you haven't jumped d8 to E2 on the back..

does anyone know what wish bones i need for my car? it still have the 4stud pattern.
If you're still running a 4 stud pattern then mk2 gti wishbones should do...Did you break one???:-#

There's a fuel pump relay in the fuse board (can't remember which one off hand) and also when I first transplanted my obd1 vr6 into the mk2, the ecu wasn't getting a proper ground, stopping the car starting.
You also might check the ignition switch too, it might not be providing power to the fuel pump relay.

I read somewhere that the connecting wires (4 pin) are in a different order, so thats why they don't work.
I've a track car and wired up an on/off switch to it and it works fine. granted this isn't the answer you're looking for!

Just to update you guys, it turned out that the exhaust had come apart at the join between the decat pipe and the centre box, giving no back pressure at all. A simple answer for something weird.

I actually had 2 coilpacks available to me, an older know working one and a brand new one. Both give the same issue. Now there was a marked different between the first coilpack and the new ones, but there's something not quite right. I've also spotted a loose connection with the exhaust which will be sorted this evening.
Also I've swapped out the leads for a new set. Next will be the plugs (which were only new about 1 month ago)

Hi all,
I recently transplanted AAA OBD1 Coilpack VR6 engine into my mk2 golf trackcar and had it on track for the first time and looking at the videos taken, there's something wrong!
Where do I start? I recently swapped out a coilpack as the old one was only running 2-3 cylinders. Once swapped out it seemed to be better, but since I've never been in or worked around a VR6 before my one, the sounds are all new to me!
Any advice is appreciated

I've got a similar issue at the moment. VAG-COM shows no errors on it and at about 15% load it hesitates like it has no fuel, Once you let go of the accelerator, the RPMs go back to normal idle and all is good. Also on full load it runs fine!
