    thanks bodge..............perhaps we could start a new forum oz vs uk, but then I'm sure it would get bogged down with cricket crap!!!! How do i check rear axle bushes?

    G'day from sunny Australia, just picked up my 94 VR^ at the weekend (rare in oz!!) and I love it!!! Except that it feels very loose in the rear when I turn in. The tyres are poor and will be replaced this week(any suggestions). I am sure that I read on here that rear sway bar bushes are prone to wear, could this be my problem? This is my first watercooled vdub since a MK1 gti when I was in the UK (90's) and is way more complicated than my kombi and the wifes 1302 beetle!!!! I would be gratefull for any suggestions as i know my ozzie bush mechanic will not have worked on one of these before. P
