    In case anyone's interested - stripped the leather (3 dr) and cloth (5dr) seats and the base frame of the leather is significantly more 'bucket-y' than the cloth. Would have been a right pain to fit the leather onto the cloth frame as the side bolsters would have ended up sitting very deep, so have added extra base padding to the leather and seems ok

    Anyone know if switching the leather onto my cloth base is feasible / reasonably easy to do?

    Have a 97 VR6, 5 door, cloth interior. Bought a nice leather set from a Mk 3 3 door (heated). Fitted perfectly but ... the front seats, even at max height adjustment, are lower than my cloth seats (and a bit too low maybe). They do adjust up and down. Took them out and can't see any problem as to why they're lower. Is it me being daft, or do they vary across models, or I have just done something wrong? Any help/advice would be great

    Just for bog standard evryday use, but are car shampoos and car polishes all much of a muchness? There's a huge price difference ... is the extra expense worth it? Just need a standard car wash and an occasional polish recommendation ... or just buy Halfords? Ta

    and how's it know whether to display minor vs major service code?

    Probably a numpty question, but when the codes IN 01 / IN 02 display, how's the car programmed to know when to display??? Linked to mileage? time? engine oil? Just interested!

    ah- didn't think of switching sub-frames. Is this an easy job???

    Just picked up some 2nd hand leather seats from a Mk III 3 door - there doesn't seem to be any height adjustment on the fronts? Is this true (maybe as they're folding seats?), or am I just missing them (my cloth seats have height adjustment altho they're 5 door interior). Is there any way I can raise the height as they're a tad low? Cheers
