    Shaf Do not use a cloth to apply polish or wax.     If you are using the guys normally found at petrol stations to wash your car then yes they do use very strong Traffic Film Remover chemicals, usually they do not understand the correct ratio's to use hence the damage to the ariel. As for the wipes they are not a good idea as you will be pushing dirt/grit/dust across the paint work which will scratch/marr the surface. I personally would not waste your money on them.

    I have no experiance of the Megs but the Collinite is very good if you have not used it before. Get a good 2 coats on and you should get at least 4 months out of it.

    The machine polisher is the polishing stage' date=' that guide looks as though it was written with respect to the Sonus SFX Polishes as they are named similar to the 3 polishing stages. The key is always to start with the least aggressive polish and use a more aggressive one if need be rather than going for a deep cut first. I always use the snow foam and lance as it is a good way to soften/ loosen the heavy dirt sticking to the car, then follow it up with thoughly rinsing with the jet wash, that way there is less risk of dragging dirt across the paint and marring the finish.

    Hi guys New to the site but have just bought my first Mk3 Golf VR6. It is currently in a bit of a state but i plan to get it fixed up and on the road as my daily car. I have had quite a Few Mk2 golfs 8v, 16v, 1.3 and a 20v that i never got on the road. Also had a couple of Mk1s and currently a Mk4 but always wanted a Mk3 VR6 This is the VR Ignore the 4stud wheel it is 5stud behind it My current daily Mk4 20vT (not a fan hence why it is standard) As soon as the Mk3 is sorted the Mk4 will have to go as we have a bit of a space issue at home, lol there is also another car in the closed garage

    Hi Mate Just been throught your thread and you have done some great work. Just thought i would mention though that the Turbo jacket you are running may cause problems with over heating the turbo, a friend of mine had one on a GT35 and the turbo got that hot it boiled the oil and killed the turbo which im sure you know are not cheap to replace. Anyway, great project and loving the OZ split rims
